Abstract
Congenital optic nerve anomalies often lead to significant visual impairment. Their
prevalence is rising with an increasing ability to diagnose and classify each specific
malformation. These anomalies are associated with several neurologic, systemic, and
ophthalmologic features which may predict a patient's prognosis and help physicians
identify treatment plans. Here, we briefly review congenital optic nerve anomalies,
their unique presentations, and clinical considerations.
